Jennie Lou Tyson, 89, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Floresville on Sept. 29, 1921. Jennie was a native of Floresville and a resident of San Antonio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Tyson; her son, William Lloyd Tyson; her sisters, Iva Lee Davis and Mattie Joy Dennis; and her brother, Walter Allen Dennis.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Lou Tyson of San Antonio and Betty Lynn Littlejohn of Oklahoma; her sons, Dennis N. Olesen and wife Debra of Crosby, and Douglas A. Olesen and wife Linda of Pasadena; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 5-9 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Sean Metcalf officiating.

Songs rendered by pianist Amanda Singer were “Amazing Grace” and “I Can Only Imagine.”

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Randy Trenary, Michael Olesen, William Wilson, Caleb Tyson, Jason Tyson, and Jonathan Wilkerson.
