Waldo “W.T.” Treviño Ximenez, a longtime resident of Floresville, Texas, entered eternal rest Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at 4:08 p.m. in his residence in Floresville at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 4 days. W.T. was born May 16, 1930, in Floresville, the son of Jesusa “Susie” Trevino and Frank Pena Ximenez Jr.

After graduation from Floresville High School, Waldo worked as a painter for many years. Waldo married Magdalena Ortiz on June 12, 1948. Magdalena, W.T.’s beloved wife of more than 50 years, preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1998. W.T. was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, the Knights of Columbus, and the Cursillos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Magdalena Ximenez; his sons, Waldo Ximenez Jr. and Arthur Ximenez; his sister, Hilda Salazar; his brother, Luis Ximenez; and his son-in-law, Lupe Flores.

W.T. is survived by his daughter, Anna X. Flores of Floresville; his grandchildren, Angel Ray Flores, Michael Anthony Courvier, Savoy Ximenez, and Anthony Ximenez; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters-in-law Jaqueline Rogers and husband Dave of California, Bernice Ortiz of Floresville, Julia Perez of California, and Mickey Saldana and husband Jose of Floresville; brother-in-law Edward Ortiz and wife Pam of Floresville; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jennifer Saldivar of Floresville.

Visitation was held Friday, Sept. 23, at 4 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Father Phillip Henning officiating.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Richard Saldana, Gilbert Saldana, Johnny Bravo, Sylvia Rios, Liz Palacios, and Henry Salazar.
