AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on minnows. Striped bass are good on down rigging silver spoons near the dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and stinkbait near the dam. Blue catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 80--84 degrees; 30.93’ low. Black bass are fair on shad flukes, Pop--R’s, and watermelon red Whacky Sticks on jigheads off points and ledges in 8--20 feet early. Striped bass are fair on live bait and plastic swim baits near the dam. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on chartreuse tube jigs and minnows. Channel catfish are good on liver, minnows, and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on juglines and trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.

CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on spoons and striper jigs near the dam and the crappie wall. Redfish are fair down rigging silver and gold spoons. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cheesebait and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water clear; 79--82 degrees; 8.17’ low. Black bass are fair to good on watermelon soft plastics and topwaters over grass early, and on red flake worms and Devil’s Tongues off points and ledges. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on pumpkin tube jigs and smoke grubs in 10--20 feet early. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live bait.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 79--82 degrees; 10.58’ low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and large soft plastics in the grass. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on punchbait and minnows. Yellow catfish are good on live perch.

COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 3.88’ low. Black bass are fair on small spinnerbaits and minnows. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and live perch. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines and juglines baited with live perch.

FALCON Water clear; 87--91 degrees. Black bass are good on large worms and jigs in 10--12 feet. Striped bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on stinkbait, shrimp, and cut bait. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water stained; 82--85 degrees; 4.44’ low. Black bass are fair on white spinnerbaits upriver around flooded timber and among main lake brush. White bass are good on slab spoons over humps and ridges. Crappie are good on chartreuse tube jigs in 5--15 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with Zote soap. Yellow catfish are slow.

LBJ Water fairly clear; 81--84 degrees; 0.12’ low. Black bass are good on blue flake Whacky Sticks, blue Curb’s Erratic jigs, and Texas rigged soft plastics near docks in 5--10 feet. Striped bass are good on Li’l Fishies and Spoiler Shads at night. White bass are good on Li’l Fishies at night. Crappie are fair on blue Curb’s crappie jigs and live minnows in clear water. Channel catfish are good on nightcrawlers and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.

TRAVIS Water stained; 82--85 degrees; 50.30’ low. Black bass are fair on smoke grubs and watermelon worms in 15--30 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on small crankbaits and jigging spoons in 20--30 feet. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cut perch in 30--40 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained. Black bass are fair on small spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on minnows, shrimp, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout and redfish are good on topwaters and plum plastics around rocks and grass. Redfish are fair to good at Yarborough on gold spoons and topwaters.

BOLIVAR Trout, bull redfish, black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass. Bull redfish, sharks and tarpon have been taken on the beach near Rollover.

CORPUS CHRISTI Bull redfish are good in the channels on crabs and table shrimp. Redfish are good on the shallow flats on gold spoons and small topwaters.

FREEPORT Bull redfish are good on live bait and crabs on the Surfside beach. Black drum and redfish are good on the reefs. Spanish mackerel, redfish and jack crevalle are good at the jetties on shrimp.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp. Redfish are good in the marsh on natural baits and Gulps.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Bull redfish are good in the surf and at San Luis Pass on crabs and mullet. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetties on shrimp and crabs.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair in Lake Austin on shrimp and Gulps.

MATAGORDA Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are good on live shrimp and topwaters in Oyster Lake, Crab Lake and Shell Island. Black drum are good around Shell Island on shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS Bull redfish are good at the jetty on table shrimp and crabs. Redfish are good around Pelican Island on shrimp. Offshore is good for amberjack, kingfish, tuna and dolphin.

PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are fair to good while drifting sand and grass flats on live shrimp, DOA Shrimp and Gulps under popping corks. Redfish are good in larger schools on small topwaters and Gulps.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are good along the edge of the channel and around the spoils on topwaters. Redfish are good while drifting pot holes on topwaters and soft plastics under a popping cork.

PORT O’CONNOR Bull redfish are good in the surf and at the jetty on natural baits. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp, SkitterWalks and TTF Gun Dog topwaters.

ROCKPORT Redfish are fair to good on mullet near Traylor Island. Trout are fair around Mud Island and Spaulding Bight on small topwaters and soft plastics under corks.

NORTH SABINE Redfish are good in the marsh on Stanley Ribbits and weedless soft plastics. Trout are fair to good under slicks and birds on topwaters and soft plastics.

SOUTH SABINE Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad. Trout are good at the jetty on live bait and topwaters. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs and table shrimp.

SOUTH PADRE Trout, redfish and snook are fair to good on the flats on DOA Lures and live shrimp under a popping cork. Tarpon, snook and bull redfish are good at the jetty.

TEXAS CITY Bull redfish are good in the channel on crabs. Sand trout and Gulf trout are good in the channel on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on crabs and shrimp.

TRINITY BAY Redfish are good on live bait around the reefs. Redfish are good on the north shoreline on gold spoons and small topwaters. Redfish are good in the marsh on shrimp.
