Calf scramble program deadline nears

The deadline for contestants involved with the San Antonio Stock Show’s Calf Scramble Program is Saturday, Oct. 1.

The value of the scramble certificate for the 2012 calf scramble is $800. Contestants must purchase a breeding project with this certificate and exhibit the animal in the 2013 show in one of the following junior breeding departments: cattle, swine, sheep, goat, or dairy.

Applications are due Oct. 1 to the SALE Livestock Department via District 4-H or Area FFA Coordinator. There is no limitation on the number of alternates submitted by Area/District Coordinators.

The dates for the upcoming San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo are set for Feb. 9-26.
