September students of the month for Floresville High School (FHS) are Kyndal Bippert and Garrett Pollok.

Kyndal is the 17-year-old daughter of Ryan and Laura Bippert.

For her efforts in the classroom, Kyndal has earned numerous honors. She was awarded the Outstanding Student of the Year Award in Spanish I, World History, and Anatomy and Physiology. She has been on the All A Honor Roll throughout her high school career.

Kyndal has also been a leader among her peers. She is currently the senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society and is a council member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a Link Crew leader, Kyndal serves as a mentor helping incoming freshmen make a smooth transition into high school. In addition, she was a member of the FHS Student Council as a freshman and sophomore. Kyndal is also active in 4-H and shows steers and pigs.

Kyndal also is very active in FHS athletics and was named Academic All-District throughout high school. She currently serves as the varsity volleyball team captain. Last year, Kyndal was named to the Volleyball Honorable Mention All-District Team and has earned All-Tournament honors at both the Stockdale and San Antonio Independent School District volleyball tournaments. In addition to volleyball, Kyndal is a member of the varsity golf and powerlifting teams. She also was a member of the junior varsity basketball team.

When not busy with her academic and extracurricular demands, Kyndal is volunteering her time in the community. She has participated in ACTS retreats and in highway cleanups, blood drives, and church cleanup projects. She also serves as an extraordinary minister and reader for her church.

Upon graduation in June, Kyndal plans to pursue a pharmacy degree at the University of Texas at Austin.

The September male student of the month is Garrett Pollok. Garrett is the 17-year-old son of Kevin and Helen Pollok.

Garrett is active on numerous FHS athletic teams. As a member of the baseball team, Garrett was named to the Second Team All-District as second baseman his sophomore year. Last year, he was named to the Honorable Mention team for shortstop. He also has been a member of the football, track, and basketball teams.

As a member of the Peanut Festival’s royal court, Garrett attends festivals across South Texas serving as an ambassador for the city of Floresville.

Garrett is dedicated to his studies and has earned recognition for perfect attendance and all A’s. He is a member in good standing with the National Honor Society. He is currently employed through the FHS Co-op program and works at the FHS Library.

Upon graduation in June, Garrett is considering attending St. Mary’s University, the University of Texas at Austin, or Baylor University.
