1931-2011

Adelina Nieto, 80, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Floresville on July 8, 1931, to Celestino Talamantez and Maria Gonzalez. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Nieto; her parents; her sons, Jesus Nieto Jr. and Henry Nieto; her brother, Celestino Talamantez Jr.; and her sister, Lydia Cervantez.

Adelina is survived by her daughters, Stella Martinez and husband Miguel of Leming, and Alice Reyes and husband Rene of La Porte; and her sons, Armando Nieto and Anthony Nieto and wife Lisa, all of Floresville. She is also survived by her sisters, Oralia Flores and Amelia Toscano, both of Floresville, and Rose Devora of Poth; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with Father Phil Henning as celebrant.

Cremation and inurnment will follow at a later date.
