1927-2011

Jesse Rios, a lifelong resident of Floresville and San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at the age of 84 years, 1 month, and 3 days. Jesse was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Floresville, the son of Sofia Mungia and Enocencio Rios Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Rios; his sons, Harry Zielinkski and Jesse “C7” Rios Jr.; a grandson, Reynaldo Rios Jr.; and his brothers, Inocencio Rios Jr., Alfredo Rios, Edward Rios, Balde Rios, and Joe Rios.

Jesse is survived by his sons, Reynaldo Rios and Ricky Rios; his daughters, Joann, Bonnie, Debbie, and Lisa; his sister, Mary Hernandez and husband Joe; his brother, Reynaldo Rios and wife Linda; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. in the Palm Heights Funeral Home in San Antonio, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., led by Dr. Linda Rios.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 1 p.m. in the Holy Name Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the San José Cemetery in San Antonio.

Serving as pallbearers were D.B. Rios, Edward Rios Jr., Joe Rios Jr., Ray Rios, Larry Hernandez, and John Rodriquez.
