Marina Sue Marroquin will be representing Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Floresville in this year’s Peanut Festival.

Marina, the 17-year-old daughter of Anthony and Lori Marroquin, has one sister, Sabina. She is the proud granddaughter of Raymond and Gloria Gutierrez of Saspamco, Louis Marroquin of Floresville, and the late Antonia C. Marroquin.

Marina is a senior and has attended Floresville High School for the past two years. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the Link Crew, the Student Council, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is a former member of the Mighty Tiger Band. Marina is currently employed at Floresville North Elementary School as a kindergarten assistant through the Co-Op Work Based Learning Program.

Marina has played varsity soccer all four years of high school. She also ran track and played volleyball for two years. Outside of school, she participates in numerous Relay For Life events, where she has been the captain of several teams.

Marina is involved with Teen ACTS and has also volunteered at Sacred Heart Vacation Bible School.

Marina would like to thank Dylan Flores, the son of Edward and Stephanie Palacios, for being her escort. She would also like to extend her sincere gratitude to Sacred Heart Church for the privilege and honor of being a part of this annual tradition.
