Luke Freeman Laskowski is honored to have been chosen by Hannah Sawers as a Prince in the 67th annual Floresville Peanut Festival Court of Mystical Magical Universe and looks forward to representing Floresville.

Luke, the 17-year-old son of Mark and Daelah Laskowski, is the grandson of Lillie Freeman of Floresville and the late Charles Freeman Jr., and Agnes Laskowski of Kosciusko and the late Fabian Laskowski. He has one brother, Cody, who attends Texas A&M University.

Luke’s family is no stranger to the peanut industry. Both grandparents were peanut farmers in Wilson County. Luke’s uncle, Charles Freeman III, is still an active peanut farmer today. Luke has worked in the peanut field for his uncle since he was 12 years old, from planting to irrigating to harvesting.

Also, Luke’s family has been active in the Peanut Festival. His mother, Daelah, was a duchess and cousin, D’Ann Rodriguez Vangorkum, was a trainer bearer in the 1981 Court of Traditional Peanut Festivals. His cousin, Michelle Freeman Fleniken, was princess in the 1992 Court of Enchantment of the Seas and cousin, Bart Freeman, was an acolyte in the 1993 Court of Ancestral Culture. His brother, Cody, was a duke in the 2008 Court of Once Upon A Time. Cousins Brett Freeman and Jason and Scott Rodriguez were also dukes in the coronation.

Luke is a senior at Floresville High School, where he plays football and baseball for the Tigers. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the FFA.

Outside of school, Luke attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville. He enjoys fishing and hunting.

Upon graduation from high school, Luke plans to attend Texas A&M University.

Luke would like to thank Princess Hannah Sawers and her family for allowing him the opportunity to escort her. He would also like to thank his seamstress, Kathy Sawers, for an excellent job on his sash.
