Hannah Elizabeth Sawers is the First Runner-up Princess-elect in the 67th annual Peanut Festival Court of Mystical Magical Universe. Hannah, the 17-year-old daughter of Chuck and Cindy Sawers, is the granddaughter of Charlie and Jean Fuller and Charley and Kathy Sawers, all of Floresville.

Hannah is very excited to be beginning her senior year at Floresville High School. Throughout her years in Floresville, Hannah has been a member of the Student Council, the National Honor Society, and the Link Crew. She serves as the senior class secretary, and has played on the varsity tennis and golf teams, and was a varsity powerlifter her freshman year.

Hannah has been actively involved in the Floresville FFA for many years and is very passionate about the organization. She has served the FFA as reporter, secretary, and currently its president. Hannah shows steers and hogs through the FFA and participates on the public relations and livestock judging teams.

Upon graduation from high school, Hannah plans to attend Texas A&M University-Kingsville where she will major in range and wildlife management.

She is also a member of the First Baptist Church of Floresville.

Hannah’s family has been very involved in past Peanut Festivals. Her father, Chuck, was a prince in 1979. Her uncle, Randy Sawers, was a prince on the court in 1983. Her aunt, Jennifer Fuller-Miksch, was a princess in the 1988 court. Her oldest sister, Heather, was a princess in 2000, and her second-oldest sister, Briana, was first runner-up in 2003. Hannah was a train bearer to the queen in 2000. Hannah’s mother has served on the Peanut Festival Association board of directors, representing Alpha Beta Lambda, and currently represents the Floresville FFA. Grandma Kathy has been a seamstress for several of the past court members, both Royal and Children’s Court.

Hannah is extremely proud and honored to represent Floresville in the Court of Mystical Magical Universe in the 67th annual Peanut Festival and is very excited to be participating in the many events.

She would like to thank Luke Laskowski for serving as her Prince-elect, her grandmother for sewing her dress, and all of her friends and family for their love and support. Hannah extends her most sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Peanut Festival Association for giving her the privilege and opportunity to represent Floresville in the upcoming Peanut Festival.
