The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. Responsibilities of the position include felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas and assisting law enforcement, assisting with Border Prosecution Cases and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of five (5) years prosecutorial experience. Garrett Lee Pollok is honored to have been selected by Alexa Marie Carvajal as King in the 67th annual Floresville Peanut Festival Court of Mystical Magical Universe. He will proudly represent the city of Floresville.

Garrett, the 17-year-old son of Kevin and Helen Pollok, has one brother, Matthew, who attends Floresville High School as a freshman. He is the grandson of Joe and Paula Hubby of San Antonio and Pat Heimann of Converse and the late Harry Pollok, formerly of San Antonio.

Garrett is a senior at Floresville High School. He has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Distinguished Academic Program at Floresville High School. He is in the top 10 percent of his class.

He was a member of the varsity Tiger football team for two years, and the varsity basketball and track teams his sophomore year.

Garrett has been a member of the varsity baseball team since 2010, and received awards as Second Team All-District as a sophomore and honorable mention as a junior for varsity baseball.

The king-elect attends Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville.

Garrett enjoys all sports, fishing, and hunting. Garrett has played baseball outside of school on several select baseball teams since the age of 9 and has won numerous tournament championships.

He plans to pursue a degree in college and follow his dreams of playing baseball at the next level.

Garrett would like to take this opportunity at this time to give a special thanks to Queen-elect Alexa Marie Carvajal and her family for allowing him the opportunity to escort her. He would also like to thank his seamstresses, Susan Keller and Vicki Desselle, for an outstanding job on his cape.
