ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. A number of streets in the downtown Floresville area will close for Peanut Festival activities, including the parades, carnival, and street dances. A number of streets will be closed for the Peanut Festival Parade, which will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday and follow the traditional route. Judging of floats will start at 8:30 a.m. Spectators from all over Texas will come out to find a spot to watch this exciting, small-town parade.

The streets listed below will be closed to all traffic except for vendors and emergency vehicles on the dates and times listed. There will be no parking on any closed street.

•D Street from Fourth to Second streets will close starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at midnight.

•Third Street from D to B streets will close starting at noon Friday till Sunday at 7 a.m.

•C Street from Fourth to Second streets will close starting at 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday at noon. The intersection of C and Fourth streets will close Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

•Street closures for the Kiddie Parade, starting at 4 p.m. Friday, will be Second Street from B to C; C Street from Second to Third streets; and Third Street from C to B streets.

•The Wilson County Courthouse parking lot will be closed the entire week of Peanut Festival through Monday, Oct. 10.
