AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on minnows. Striped bass are good on down rigging silver spoons near the dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, and silver spoons. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and stinkbait near the dam. Blue catfish are slow.



BUCHANAN Water clear; 75--79 degrees; 31.73' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Whacky Sticks, Pop--R's, and shad flukes along ledges in 5--15 feet early. Striped bass are fair on plastic swim baits on the surface early, and drifting live bait from Lighthouse Point to the dam. White bass are slow and small trolling Shad Raps and jigging plastic swim baits through shad schools along the river channel. Crappie are fair on pink/white and chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows. Channel catfish are good on liver and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on rod/reel, juglines and trotlines baited with goldfish and perch upriver.



CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are fair on spoons and striper jigs near the dam and the crappie wall. Redfish are fair down rigging silver and gold spoons. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cheesebait and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.



CANYON LAKE Water clear; 76--80 degrees; 8.46' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red Whacky Sticks and JDC Skip--N--Pop topwaters along grassy banks early and late, and on drop shot Devil's Tongues along break lines and ledges. Striped bass are fair trolling crankbaits over and around humps, and jigging 1oz. Pirk Min-nows at daylight. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on smoke JDC grubs and 3/16oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs in 15--25 feet early. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live bait.



CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 77--80 degrees; 10.81' low. Black bass are fair on minnows and watermelon spinnerbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on frozen shrimp and punchbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.



COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 3.79' low. Black bass are fair on minnows and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, liver, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines and juglines baited with live perch in 15--30 feet.



FALCON Water clear; 84--88 degrees. Black bass are good on large worms and jigs in 10--12 feet. Striped bass are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on stinkbait, shrimp, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.



GRANGER Water clear; 82--85 degrees; 4.66' low. Black bass are fair on shad rap crankbaits upriver around flooded timber and around shallow main lake points. White bass are good on slab spoons over humps and ridges. Crappie are very good on chartreuse tube jigs in 6--12 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with Zote soap. Yellow catfish are slow.



LBJ Water fairly clear; 78--82 degrees; 0.27' low. Black bass are fair on blue flake Whacky Sticks, watermelon Curb's Erratic jigs, and Texas rigged soft plastic worms around docks and lay downs in 5--15 feet early. Striped bass are good on Spoiler Shads and Li'l Fishies at night. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies at night. Crappie are fair to good on chartreuse tube jigs and live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on nightcrawlers, liver, and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.



TRAVIS Water stained; 80--83 degrees; 51.35' low. Black bass are fair on white grubs and chartreuse worms in 15--25 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on smoke grubs and jigging spoons. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and cut perch. Yellow catfish are slow.



WALTER E. LONG Water stained. Black bass are fair on small spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on minnows, shrimp, and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good on topwaters and plum plas-tics around rocks and grass. Red-fish are fair to good in knee--deep water on small Super Spooks, She Pups and SkitterWalks. Flounder are fair in the Land Cut on soft plastics tipped with shrimp.



BOLIVAR Trout are good on the south shoreline on Bass Assas-sins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Croakers are good at Rollover Pass on fresh shrimp.



CORPUS CHRISTI Redfish are good in the surf on mullet, shrimp and shad. Redfish are good in the guts running parallel to the shore-lines. Trout are fair on grass and mud on live bait.



FREEPORT Bull redfish are fair to good on live bait on the Surfside beach, San Luis Pass and the jetties. Black drum and redfish are good on the reefs in Bastrop Bay.



EAST GALVESTON BAY Red-fish are good in the marsh on small topwaters and live bait. Trout are fair on the shorelines for waders on topwaters, soft plastics and Corkies.



WEST GALVESTON BAY Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Tarpon over 200 pounds are solid along the beachfront. Redfish are good in the back lakes on natural baits.



EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Trout are fair for waders on the shorelines on small topwaters and Gulps.



MATAGORDA Bull redfish are good at the jetty on live bait. Flounder are fair to good on the shorelines for giggers and waders. Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are fair on live shrimp in Oyster Lake, Crab Lake and Shell Island.



PORT ARANSAS Trout, redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp and croakers. Bull redfish are good in the surf and at the jetty on crabs, shrimp and shad.



PORT ISABEL Trout and red-fish are fair to good while drifting sand and grass flats on live shrimp, DOA Shrimp and Gulps under popping corks. Redfish are good in the shallows on small topwaters and gold spoons. Large schools of redfish are beginning to show on the flats.



PORT MANSFIELD Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on topwaters and soft plastics under a popping cork. Bull redfish are good in East Cut on crabs and mullet. Trout are good on the Kenedy shoreline on topwaters.



PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp. Redfish are good in the surf and at the jetty on mullet, croakers and piggy perch.



ROCKPORT Redfish are fair to good on mullet on the Estes Flats and around Mud Island. Redfish are beginning to work in large schools. High tides have pushed redfish to the shallow flats.



NORTH SABINE Redfish are good in the marsh with high tides. Drifters have worked slicks on shad and plastics.



SOUTH SABINE Trout are good at the jetty on live bait and top-waters. Flounder are fair at the mouths of the bayous on a falling tide on jigs tipped with shrimp.



SOUTH PADRE Trout, redfish and snook are fair to good in South Bay. Tarpon and snook are good on DOA Shrimp at the jetty. Bull reds are good at the jetty on table shrimp and crabs.



TEXAS CITY Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on crabs and shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on reefs in Dickinson Bayou on shrimp.



TRINITY BAY Trout are fair for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on soft plastics and live shrimp. Redfish are good on live bait around the reefs and in the marsh. Redfish are fair to good at the spillway on live bait.
