Our beloved father, grandfather, and devoted husband, James “Jim” Marconi, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.

Jim, born Sept. 11, 1936, was a dedicated San Antonio, Texas, police officer for 32 years, serving with the rank of detective for the last 20 years before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Minerva Marconi, and a grandson, Gary Matthew Marconi.

Jim is survived by his beloved children, Tom Marconi and wife Diana, Debra Saldaña and husband Danny, Benjamin Marconi, and Teresa McKnight and husband Tanton; and grandchildren Ross Gonzales Jr., Nick Saldaña, Danielle Saldaña, Adam Marconi, Andrew Marconi, Dane Marconi, Jacy Lewis, and Blake Kirkland.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.

A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 7 p.m. in the church.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
