Found: Male MinPin?, about 2 years old, not fixed, sweet, very smart, on Sept. 25 inside Floresville Walmart, healthy, no fleas, clean teeth, manicured nails, will keep if owner not found. 830-542-0280.
Missing: Male Chihuahua, black/gray/white, named Spy, possibly missing from F.M. 775 around Vintage Oaks Subdivision and Woodlands area, Sat., Sept. 26 about 10 p.m. 830-391-5055.

Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Tim Jowers, 39, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011. He was born Jan. 14, 1972.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Richardson) Jowers of La Vernia; his children, Christopher Earls of Devine, Cole Earls of La Vernia, Cheyenne Earls of La Vernia, and Preston Jowers of Port Lavaca; his parents, Edwin and Pat Jowers of San Antonio; his brothers, Dwayne Mercer of Cibolo, Darrel Mercer of San Antonio, and Michael Mercer of Luling; his sister, Rhonda (Jowers) Blakely of La Vernia; nephews Garrett Holland and Dylan Holland; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 7, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment followed in the Sutherland Springs Cemetery in Sutherland Springs.

Memorial donations may be made to Finch Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 838, La Vernia, TX 78121, C/O Tim Jowers Fund.
