1933-2011

Barbara “Nani” Ann Murray, 78, of La Vernia, Texas, left this Earth on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011. Barbara was born March 9, 1933.

Barbara spent most of her life on Oahu, Hawaii. She was a family leader of great strength, stamina, courage, optimism, and love. For the last month of her life, Barbara fought the good fight, finished the race, and all the while she kept the faith.

Seven children survive Barbara, Michael Murray, Kathleen Niez, Daniel Murray, Shawn Murray, Matthew Murray, Theresa Murray, and Mary Au. Barbara is also survived by many hanai ohana (you all know who you are), 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

For friends wishing to share last moments, Barbara’s ashes will be at St. John Apostle and Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani Town, Hawaii, on Friday, Oct. 21, at 9:15 a.m. An informal eulogy will take place from 9:15-10 a.m. Promptly at 10 a.m. that same morning, Father Mooya will bless Barbara’s ashes.

Barbara’s immediate family will be taking her to Waimea Bay, her final resting place on Earth, on Saturday, where Barbara will be joined with her late husband, Patrick, her mother Esther, and God.
