1933-2011

Leonard Ernest Baumann, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at the age of 78. He was born July 23, 1933, in Wilson County.

He served two years in the U.S. Army. Leonard was a longtime member of Highland Park Lutheran Church and was a member of Hermann Sons Pershing Lodge.

He was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents, Lonnie and Elenora Baumann; and a sister, Jereline Henze.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Doris Baumann; his daughters, Diane Baumann, Karen Baumann, and Cheryl Tlapek and husband Steve; his grandchildren, Emily Tlapek, Kathryn Tlapek, and Thomas Tlapek; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 5-8 p.m. in the Mission Park South Funeral Chapel in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Highland Park Evangelical Lutheran Church in San Antonio.

Memorial donations may be made to Highland Park Evangelical Lutheran Church, 705 Hammond Ave., San Antonio, TX 78210, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
