Rebecca Ruth Hodge Guerrero, 81, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011. Rebecca was born March 14, 1930, in Elmendorf, to Samuel Buchanan and Manuela Hernandez Hodge, and grew up in San Antonio.

She graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1948 and briefly attended Trinity University. After high school, she worked at Joskes of Texas and was one of their first live television models on WOAI-TV. She also worked as a school secretary at Cenizo Park and H.K. Williams Elementary. She was a lifelong member of the Divine Redeemer Presbyterian Church and worked as a missionary in northern New Mexico and was a Sunday school teacher at the West Durango Plaza Apartments. After her retirement, Rebecca enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and was active in their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Samuel, William, and Albert; and her sisters, Ana Maria and Emma.

Rebecca is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Rodolfo Enrique Lozano Guerrero; her daughter, Sandra Ruth Guerrero Rivera and husband David; her sons, Russell Lloyd and wife Yvette and Rudolph Alfred; her grandchildren, Marisa Andreana Elizondo and husband Jesse, Adam Joel Sanchez-Guerrero, Joshua Aaron Sanchez-Guerrero, Justin Rudolph Arredondo-Guerrero, and Anicia Arredondo-Guerrero; great-grandchildren Caleb James Elizondo, Nehemiah Christopher Elizondo, and Ziana Rebecca Elizondo; her sister, Elsa Valdez; and her brother, Richard Hodge. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the wonderful neighbors and caregivers who made her quality of life and the family’s peace of mind much better.

An evening service was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. in the Porter Loring Chapel in San Antonio.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Divine Redeemer Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the San Fernando Cemetery No. III in San Antonio.
