Validation, stock show entry dates set

Validation for lambs and goats in the Wilson County Junior Livestock Show, La Vernia, or other major livestock shows will be held Monday, Oct. 24, from 3-6 p.m. in the Wilson County Show Barn.

The exhibitor(s) and a parent or guardian must be present in order to sign the validation form.

Remember, to be eligible to show your market lamb or goat at the Wilson County and/or major livestock shows, you must bring your animals on the designated days -- lambs/goats on Oct. 24.

Validation for horses to be shown in the Wilson County Junior Livestock Show, will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Wilson County Show Barn.

The exhibitor(s) and a parent or guardian must be present in order to sign the validation form.

Remember, to be eligible to show your horse at the Wilson County, you must take your horse on Oct. 22.

Project visits

Anyone needing assistance with checking on the progress of their project animals, contact the Extension Office at 830-393-7357 to schedule a date and time.

Stock show entry dates

Stock show entries for Wilson County, Fort Worth, the Hill Country District Junior Livestock Show, San Antonio, San Angelo, Houston, and the Star of Texas Livestock Show will be processed at the Wilson County Extension Office on these dates:

•Monday, Nov. 7, 8 a.m. until noon, and 1-5 p.m.

•Tuesday, Nov. 8, 8 a.m. until noon, and 1-8 p.m.

When coming in, be sure to have exhibitor’s Social Security numbers if entering the major shows. Registration papers for breeding entries, and validation of livestock projects and ordering of poultry project does not constitute entries to the shows.

In order to sign up for the stock shows, you must be enrolled in 4-H Connect. Those showing at the major livestock shows must have gone through the Quality Counts Verification.
