LA VERNIA -- Police here and La Vernia Independent School District Superintendent Tom Harvey have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the La Vernia Junior High School’s student activities fund.

Harvey said today that letters were sent home with students to inform their parents of the probe. He said the district is cooperating with police and it takes the allegations seriously.

Sgt. Bruce Ritchey of the La Vernia Police Department is heading up the investigation. He said the months-old probe began when a parent made an allegation that a district staff member was misappropriating money from the fund.

Totally get what you are saying, many people went to the Board Meeting, but all business is done in executive meeting, so for many we have heard, it just seems to be a waste of time. They don't seem to want community input.... More ›

@One Voice: did not mean to sound condescending, I apologize. When you said 'pay check'. I took that to mean check stub. My bad.

I did not say check stubs. If you are going to get really bossy - get your FACTS straight. People do not respond to a condescending attitude.

October 19, 2011 11:31am
@One Voice: under no circumstances will you get check stubs because there is information on the check that is confidential for the employee, but rather ask for a detail by month of what was paid to the employee through payroll,... More ›
