Adelina Nieto passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 24 days. She was a lifelong resident of Floresville. Adelina was born on July 8, 1931, in Floresville to Celestino and Maria Talamantez.

She was preceded in death in death by her parents; her husband, Jesus Nieto Sr.; her sons, Jesus Nieto Jr. and Henry Neito; her brother, Celestino Talamantez Jr.; and her sister, Lydia Cervantez.

Adelina is survived by her daughters, Stella Martinez and husband Miguel of Leming and Alice Reyes and husband Rene of LaPorte; her sons, Armando Nieto of Floresville and Anthony Nieto and wife Lisa of Floresville; her sisters, Oralia Flores of Floresville, Amalia Toscano of Floresville, and Rose Devora of Poth; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning officiating.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Her grandchildren served as pallbearers.
