Texas Farmers Union President Wes Sims presented Henry R. Cuellar, congressman from the 28th District of Texas, with the National Farmers Union Golden Triangle Award, the organization’s highest award recognizing leadership on behalf of farmers, ranchers, and rural communities. The award was presented during the National Farmers Union annual Legislative Fly-in in Washington, D.C.

The Golden Triangle Award is presented each year to select members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate in recognition of their leadership on issues important to rural America.

Texas Farmers Union has been working since 1902 to protect and enhance the economic well-being and quality of life for family farmers, ranchers, and rural communities through advocating grassroots-driven policy positions adopted by its membership.
