Offer condolences


Wades Earle Moring Sr. passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at 3 p.m. in the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 11 days. Wades was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Karnes County, the son of Elroy and Elenor Walker Moring.

After graduation from Kenedy High School, Wades married Mary Galindo on Sept. 1, 1942, in San Antonio. Wades worked as a tile setter and served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1940 until 1945.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, Steven Gregory Moring; his brothers, Vernon Moring, Carter Moring, and Douglas Moring; and his sisters, Nora Belle Elder and Natalie Henry.

Wades is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary Galindo Moring; his children, Wades Moring Jr. and wife Barbara of Helotes, Edward Moring and wife Nita of Jourdanton, John Moring and wife Louise of Floresville, Karen Cooper and husband Stewart of Floresville, Timmy Moring and wife Annette of Somerset, and Carole Reuter and husband Tim of Seguin; 19 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, LaVada Krause, and his brother, John Tony Moring.

Visitation and the recitation of the rosary were held Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Somerset.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the church, with Father Rolando Rivera officiating.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Somerset.

Serving as pallbearers were Wesley Cooper, Lance Moring, Matt Moring, Frank Moring, Zac Moring, and Garrett Moring.
