Marjorie Iva Mills, 88, of Burleson, Texas, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011. She was born on Aug. 22, 1923, to Rufus Luther and Iva Lois Smith in Pleasanton.

Marjorie graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1941 and received a business degree from San Antonio College in 1943. In the 1940s, she worked at Kelly Air Force Base. She was also a secretary for the New Braunfels courthouse. Later, she was a secretary at Judson Independent School District in Converse.

Marjorie married Judson Grady Mills on April 3, 1944. They were married for 58 years.

She served alongside her husband in the ministry for more than 45 years.

She was a lady of great integrity, had a gentle loving spirit, and was a virtuous wife, an exceptional piano player, and a precious mother. She used her God-given talents to teach her children and to serve her Lord.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Judson Grady Mills; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Grace Collis; her parents; 10 half-sisters; and four half-brothers.

She is survived by her five children, Marilyn Rodgers and husband Benny of Azle, Sharon Cloud and husband Jim of Burleson, Sandra Grimes and husband Richard of Plano, Judy Summers and husband Grady of San Angelo, and Michael Judson Mills and wife Jeannie of Weatherford. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Jimmy Rodgers, John Rodgers and wife Hope, Tiffany Hughes, Cory Cloud and wife Cindy, Billy Cloud, Michelle Collis and husband John, Carisa Epperson and husband Tim, Jared Grimes, Heather Shores, Holly Summers, Heidi Smith and husband Paul, Tristan Summers and wife Melissa, Brandon Mills, Amanda Mills, and Caleb Mills; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ida Maurine Davis and husband Bill of Corpus Christi; many nieces and nephews; and many precious friends.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 6-8 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home in Floresville.

Her going home service will begin Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

A graveside service and interment will follow in the Marcelina Cemetery near Floresville.
