CHINA GROVE -- Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continue to search for two suspects who attempted to rob the Wells Fargo bank on U.S. 87 here at approximately 6:45 a.m.

Deputy Chief Dale Bennett of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the two are described as black males with slender builds -- one standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing approximately 140 pounds; and the other standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and weighing approximately 120 pounds. Both wore black hoodies and dark-colored pants.

Bennett said a witness called 911 after the two men approached an employee from behind, forced the employee into the bank, and demanded cash. The men, who left after stealing a cellular telephone, fled when a deputy responded to the scene. No weapon was recovered.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 210-335-6070 or San Antonio Crime Stoppers at 210-335-STOP (7867).
