Wilburn ‘Willie’ M. Kitchen

Wilburn “Willie” M. Kitchen was born on July 10, 1919, in San Marcos, Texas, and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, in Floresville.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Dazelle “Daisy” E. Kitchen.

Willie is survived by his daughters, Gerry Avallone and Greg Chitwood, Diana Spencer and husband Fred, and Maurine Carver and husband Will; his son, William M. Kitchen; his grandchildren, George Vasill Jr., Melissa Robertson, Jared Rosckes and wife Cindy, Crystal Carle, Alicia Kitchen Wall and husband Schuyler, and Serena M. Kitchen; his great-grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Landon, Carson, and Brayden; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation took place Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 5-9 p.m. in the Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, with full military honors.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arms of Hope, 21300 S.H. 16 N., Medina, TX 78055.
