Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Offer condolences


Mildred Jane Rehfeld Richter, a longtime resident of Hondo, Texas, passed away Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 3:20 p.m. after a battle with breast cancer, at the age of 71 years, 7 months, and 28 days.

She was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Floresville, the daughter of Charlie and Mary Polasek Rehfeld. She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, and was the owner of Richter’s 6-R Products Inc.

Mildred married Fred Lee Richter Sr., on Sept. 7, 1957, in Carrizo Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Eddie Luce.

Mildred is survived by her beloved husband of more than 54 years, Fred Lee Richter Sr. of Hondo; her children, Fred Lee Richter Jr. and wife Rachel of Uvalde, and Scott Lee Richter and wife Jeanne, Janet Lee Luce and husband Rick, and Dale Lee Richter and wife Cheryl, all of Hondo; her grandchildren, Madison Nichole Luce, Tyler Wayne Luce, Taylor Wayne Luce, Reagan Lee Luce, Jaclyn Nichole Richter, Samantha Annie Richter, Dale Richter Jr., Kylee Knight, Scotty Lee Richter Jr., September Mary Richter, Presley Ann Richter, and Brandon Lee Richter; her siblings, George Rehfeld and wife Katherine of San Antonio, Mary Hawkins and husband Wade of Floresville, Elizabeth Hoch and husband Allen of San Antonio, and Lorene Ledwig of Floresville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation began at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with Dennis Parnell officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Dale Richter, Fred Richter Jr., Tyler Luce, Taylor Luce, Rick Werner, and Freddy Huser.

The family requests memorials be made to the Nellie B. Connally Breast Cancer Center, c/o MD Anderson, 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030.
