Admission is free, and show hours will be from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. all three days. The show’s farm and ranch supplier and service provider trade show will be open from noon to 7 p.m. on Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The South Texas Commodity Symposium will be held Friday. Also, educational topics include integrated pest management, a deep-soil sampling demonstration, cotton yields, feral hog control, explanation of the John Deere sprayer nozzle table, a sheep- and goat-handling demonstration, and a cattle-handling demonstration.
Additional topics at this year’s show will include brush management, forage and weed management, deer nutrition, equine dental and lameness issues, hoof trimming and drenching, weed resistance, fencing, and farm-pond management.
Additional show activities include a Texas Truck Tractor Association tractor pull at the Freeman Coliseum.
More than 25 educational programs will offer 15 Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units -- in general, laws and regulations, drift, and integrated pest management -- for private pesticide applicators, as well as credits or units for beef quality assurance and certified crop advisors.
