Well, here we go. Another “politician/businessman” that has a checkered past!

Wow, reminds me of days gone by with another politician - William Jefferson Clinton.... I mentioned him in a previous blog as to how his morals impacted the younger generation. The latest scandal is with Mr Cain’s sexual harassment “issue?” Wow - what a political problem to have to deal with. Here is an intelligent man who has come up through the ranks, given all opportunities within the private sector to rise to the position as CEO with Godfather’s Pizza and other positions of power, and what does he do? He uses that power to “maybe” sexually harass women. (I am sure that we will be hearing from one of the women involved to hear her side of the story).

I have been watching Mr Cain throughout all the debates and interviews since he announced his candidacy, and last night he was on Special Report on FOX in a segment that spotlights one of the Republican candidates each week. As the questions were asked regarding this “issue” in his past, I paid close attention to his eyes and facial expressions when answering questions. He was not comfortable in answering the sexual harassment “issue”, and he has a “canned” and very well memorized campaign answer for most questions that I am becoming annoyed with. His 9-9-9 and his 9-0-9 plans will never work. Notice how he always says, “they changed the assumption.” Well, we know what “assuming” means. He is very weak on Foreign Policy and really is not fluent in using the English language. NOW I will admit that I love President George W. Bush and yes he was the brunt of many many jokes when he held news conferences when he would mispronounce words at times, but I expect more than what Mr, Cain is projecting. I want a candidate who understands “the whole picture” of the Country’s problems (and that includes how the Federal Government is supposed to work) and can speak extemporaneously and answer any question without having “canned answer.”

Of course, he has not convinced me that this “incident” did not happen. He was aware of this coming out in the public 10 days ago and it is obvious that he was unprepared for what has happened. So far I have heard about 5 different versions and each one provides more and more information. I watched very carefully as to how he answered the questions given by the woman on the panel on Special Report. In my opinion, Mr. Cain appeared “annoyed” with her questions and appeared to look down upon her when she was asking questions. I am beginning to think that Mr. Cain just might have had problem with women in the workforce since he is from the “male dominated work environment” of the 1960’s and 1970’s.

Now I am not judging him - Only God will judge, but based on my work experiences during my career, I am very cautious in my opinions of him as a Presidential Candidate. Power in the workforce will cause individuals to act in a way that is not conducive in providing a positive work environment for women or men. I have seen this personally. This is really nothing new... It has gone on forever. The world is still a male dominated society and believe you me, there are women who cannot handle power in a positive manner either. So do not label me as a Sexist, or a woman who hates men. It is just a fact. Individuals who are successful usually do love the power that comes in reaching the top levels of the private sector, OR in the Federal Government. They thrive on it.

Sometimes women who want to advance in their positions will give in to those in power in order to climb the ladder faster, and then there are those who just plod along waiting their turn. It is just life! Any time there is an organization, there is an individual who loves to be in charge and loves the power. Think about these things as you look for personality traits and the candidates’ experience in your choice for the Republican Candidate who will be debating the person who resides in our White House!
