1918-2011

Carrie Mae Talley, 93, formerly of Nixon, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, in Abilene. She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in DeWitt County and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Nixon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Claudia (Cord) Lord; her husband, Frank B. Talley on Sept. 26, 1992; and an infant son.

Carrie Mae is survived by her daughter, Susan Dahl and husband George of Abilene; her son, Malcolm Talley and wife Beverly of Nixon; her brother, Harold Lord and wife Florine of Blanco; four grandchildren, Cindy Clark and husband Jeff, Toby Talley and wife Kristi, Deirdre Alexander and husband Trey, and Tiffany Yates and husband Chris; six great-grandchildren, Amber Clark, Preston Clark, Drew Alexander, Madeline Velasquez, Calley Yates, and Tinsley Talley; and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 2, from 6-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jim Kennedy officiating.

Interment followed in the Nixon Cemetery in Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 403 N. Texas Ave., Nixon, TX 78140, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
