Church celebrates anniversaries

The parish of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated a special Jubilarians Mass on Sunday, Oct. 23, in St. Hedwig. Amarillo Bishop Emeritus John W. Yanta was the celebrant.
The Mass honored those celebrating 25-year-plus anniversaries of weddings, membership in a religious order, and priesthood.
Slawek Panek and Edward Langa presented special messages about family vocations with quotes from Pope John Paul II, and certificates were presented to all honorees by Bishop Yanta. The certificates were presented on behalf of Pope Benedict XVI, along with his blessings.
Celebrating 25 years of marriage were Ronald and Cynthia Alexander, Mark and Beverly Fanick, Charles and Zofia Koterba, James and Christine Moos, Charles and Helen Seiler, and Robert and Denise Staudt. The Rev. Stanislaw Pieczaka was recognized for his 35th year in the priesthood.
Alan and Margaret Crosby, Todd and Bonnaie Phillips, Ruben and Manuela Villarreal, and Patrick and Sharon Wiatrek were recognized for their 40th wedding anniversaries. Honored for 45 years of marriage were Bron and Rose Brysch, Anthony and Linda Doege, Walter and Mary Lee Golla, and Alphonse and Elaine Kolodziej; recognized for 45 years of priestly service was the Rev. Ricardo Hernandez.
Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversaries were Alphonse and Magdalen Ibrom, James and Henrietta Lowak, Samuel and Constance Lyssy, Miguel and Minerva Martinez, Waldo and Lydia Martinez, Franklin and Margaret Miksch, and John and Mary Winkler.
Fred and Alice Aniol celebrated 53 years; Jose and Betty Cuellar and August and Eugenia Kiolbassa celebrated 55 years; Florent and Mildred Baecke, 59 years; and Stanley and Adelina Skrzycki celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Following the Mass, the honorees and their families were treated to a luncheon in the John Paul II Center and special entertainment by the “County Line Community Band.”
