The Floresville High School junior varsity Tiger football team finished off a good year with a disappointing loss to Port Lavaca last week. The Tigers finished the season with a 6-3-1 overall record, while going 3-1-1 in district play.

The Tigers fought hard all game long, but in the end, just didn’t make enough plays to win the game. The Tigers scored on runs from Travis Morales and Gilbert Ortiz.

On the season, the Tigers were led by the offensive line of Blake Popham, Sam Handowski, Larry Guerrero, Josh Vasquez, Luke Clements, and tight end Zach Frantz. Leading the Tigers on the ground were Morales, Ortiz, and Cesar Hernandez. Also playing well for the Tiger offense were Nick Trevino and Travis Tieken.

Defensively, the Tigers played great all year. They were led by Dustin McDonald, Justin Ybarra, Nick Gomez, Aaron Laskowski, Vernon Marsh, Cruz Dehoyos, Anthony Gonzales, Daniel Ramirez, Handowski, Vasquez, and Mark Livesay. Congratulations on a great season!
