The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office is seeking candidates for the position of an Administrative Assistant. Duties will include but not limited to: answering incoming calls and greeting visitors, prepare discovery for defense bar as required, providing administrative and clerical support to the ADAs and District Attorney, assist in general office work and perform related duties as follows: Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard, proficient use of software applications and computer equipment, scanning and compiling files for eDiscovery, filing and creating court files, generating reports as required. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of administrative assistant experience, strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Charlie M. McInvale, a lifelong resident of Floresville, Texas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at 8 p.m. in his residence in Floresville at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 23 days. Charlie was born Nov. 11, 1939, in Floresville, the son of James Wesley and Inez Barber McInvale.

After graduation from Floresville High School, Charlie married Georgia Prater on March 15, 1961, in San Antonio. Charlie was retired from the San Antonio Police Department and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe McInvale.

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Georgia McInvale of Floresville; his children, Sherry Stecker and husband Jeff of South Dakota, Nanette Ullmann of Floresville, and Charlie W. McInvale and wife Valerie of Poth; and his sister, Thelma Garnand of Floresville. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Richard E. Ullmann III and wife Mollie of Houston, Nannell Talamantez and husband Lee Wayne of Houston, Sandy Davidson of South Dakota, Lacey Shock of South Dakota, Brian Shock of South Dakota, and Nolan James McInvale of Poth; and his great-grandchildren, Ryder Easton Ullmann, Camron Talamantez, Ava Talamantez, Ahlyia Adolphsen, Darron Adolphsen, Davin Malcolm Adolphsen, Jayla Fahleen, and Jaydon Fahleen.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 5-7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Paul Worley officiating.

Interment, with military honors, followed in the Marcelina Cemetery in Wilson County.

Serving as pallbearers were the San Antonio Police Department Honor Guard.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 291048, San Antonio, TX 78229-1648.
