The La Vernia Angels invite donations for a coat drive for the organization’s “Evening with Santa.”

The Boy and Girl Scouts, along with 4-H clubs, are holding coat drives of their own in order to help out on this very special evening.

Each year, the support from the community has grown. Drop boxes are located at the Dollar General, Family Dollar, and H-E-B in the La Vernia for your new/ slightly used coats and/or brand-new pajamas and undergarments.

The third annual event will be on Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the La Vernia City Park. Santa and Mrs. Claus are due to arrive around 7 p.m. and will be giving families free sleigh rides. There will be hot chocolate and refreshments for the entire family, along with face painting and a craft table.

Evening with Santa shirts are available for purchase. The price is $10.50, with all proceeds going toward the less fortunate of our community. Toddler and infant sizes are also available.

These orders must be in by Wednesday, Nov. 23, with payment. Orders can be made by calling the LV Spirit Shop at 830-779-2796 or by stopping by. Shirts will be ready for pick-up Dec. 1.
