ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Ben Linley Capps, 85, formerly of Beeville, Texas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011. Ben was born Oct. 24, 1926, in Liberty.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Ben is survived by his wife, Albina (Horky) Capps of Stockdale; his sons, Larry Capps and wife Lynn of Copperas Cove, Johnny Capps and wife Pam of Cameron, and Mike Capps and wife Diane of La Vernia; and his daughters, Shirley Dixon and husband Steve of Sheridan, Joan Chesshir of Beeville, Teresa Wright and husband Jimmy of Stockdale, and Lisa Capps of Stockdale. He is also survived by his sister, Beth Medlin of Baytown; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation took place Monday, Nov. 21, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale, with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Stockdale, with Father Dennis Jarzombek officiating.

Interment took place Tuesday at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Beeville.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 535, Stockdale, TX 78160.

Serving as pallbearers were Ben Hester, Lucas Wright, Lance Wright, Lyle Wright, Michael Joseph Capps, Jake Dixon, and Josh Dixon. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Randy Capps, Steve Capps, Jimmy Wright, Steve Dixon, Jack Freiley, Andrey Ostrovskiy, Michael Latham, Joe Gary Wright, Phil Wright, Bill Miller, and Alan Patterson.
