1935-2011

Charlie H. Bundrick went to be with the Lord in his home in Lampasas, Texas, on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. Charlie was born on Jan. 29, 1935, in Floresville to Harper and Beatrice Masters Bundrick.

He married his lifelong sweetheart and best friend, Janitha Ann Denman, on Aug. 14, 1953, at the young age of 18. The couple lived in Midland for many years, where he worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T. During that time, he worked hard and respectfully earned the title of Master Mason in the Masonic Lodge. They later moved to Portland, where he concluded his career of many years with SWB/AT&T as a communication specialist. After retiring, they moved back home to Midland for a short while and then to Manor, to be caregivers for an aunt. He and Janitha moved to Mullin in 2005, where he enjoyed the blessings of sweet time spent with the love of his life, dear family. and the peace and beauty of nature, which he so loved. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, said his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his brother. Harper Lee Bundrick Jr.; and his sister, Patricia Bundrick.

He leaves behind two daughters, Karen Neal and husband Steve of Odessa and Lanee’ Sargent of Georgetown; his sister, Laverne “Dinkie” Rose and husband Raymond of Floresville; his brother, Elmo Bundrick Vickers; his grandchildren, Josh Odom and wife Melanie of Midland, Kristen Janysek of Georgetown, Austin Neal and wife Jordan of Melton-Mowbry, England, and Kayla Sargent of Georgetown; two great-grandchildren, Weston and Paisley Odom of Midland; his niece, Cheri Smith of Key West, Fla., and daughter Erin Wagoner and husband Carl of Key West; three nephews, Raymond Rose Jr., Don Rose, and David Rose; best friends Warren Olson and Troy Allen; and a host of other family and lifelong friends.

The family would like to express thanks to Light House Hospice and all others who have loved and cared for him.

The family received friends in the Ellis Funeral Home in Midland Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6-8 pm.

A graveside service was held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
