Leslie “Les” Duncan, 88, of Leming, Texas, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. Leslie was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Llano County.

After high school, Leslie proudly served our country in World War II in the U.S. Navy. After the war, he went to work for Alamo National Bank, where he retired as vice president and comptroller after 42 years of service. Leslie served his community through his work, and with the Boy Scouts of America, having served as Scoutmaster. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio and the San Antonio Executives Club. Leslie became a rancher when he and his wife, Rebecca, moved to Leming in 1972, and he was a charter member of the Atascosa County Cattleman’s Association.

Leslie was preceded in death by the love of his life, Rebecca “Becky” Duncan in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Duncan; a brother, Jack Duncan; and two sisters, Betty Smith and Charlotte Gilbert.

Leslie is survived by his brother, Jimmie Duncan of Leming; two sisters, Moray Murray and husband Gary and Jane McCullough and husband Jerry, all of Colorado; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 27, from 2-9 p.m. in the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. A prayer service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment, with full military honors, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

A memorial service will follow Monday at 12 p.m. in St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in San Antonio.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 315 E. Pecan, San Antonio, TX 78205.
