Brooke Kosub was surprised by East Central High School Principal Roland Toscano and her family Nov. 10, as she was selected the superintendent’s student of the month for East Central High School.

Brooke leads the East Central FFA this year as the president, but her accomplishments run much deeper. As Principal Toscano addressed Brooke’s sixth-period Ag Leadership class, he explained that Brooke was chosen by the teachers of East Central High School because of her involvement in school and her community.

Brooke, the daughter of Tommy and Judith Kosub of St. Hedwig, is a member of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, where she is a role model not only for her two younger sisters, Paige and Meg, but many others.

Brooke serves as the Clemens 4-H president where she shows cattle and participates in livestock judging.

She is highly active in the East Central FFA, as the 2011-12 president. Brooke earned her Lone Star Degree this past summer and she has just returned from her second trip to the National FFA Convention. Brooke led the national floriculture evaluation team to a Gold Rating at the national level.

Last year, Brooke was part of the Gold Rated ag communications team. Brooke is currently a member of both the ag issues and public relations teams that advanced to area competition Nov. 16 in Blanco.

Brooke has been described by her peers as kind, honest, a leader, and the best friend you could have. The East Central FFA is proud of Brooke’s accomplishments and they understand that her skills will carry her far as she attends Texas A&M University next fall.
