WASHINGTON DC--Today, Congressman Henry Cuellar released the following statement after federal courts released their interim congressional maps for the State of Texas:

"Although these are only interim maps, it is clear that the court agreed with my legal arguments that more Hispanic-opportunity districts were needed. I regret the loss of counties I've served for 6 years and also look forward to making a positive impact in the new areas."

Congressman Henry Cuellar is a member of the U.S. House Homeland Security and Agriculture Committees. Job creation, accessibility to constituents, education, economic development, and national security are his priorities.
