South Texas’ Christmas Trail Ride
The South Texas Trail Ride will hold its warm-up and Christmas Trail Ride Friday through Sunday, Dec. 2-4, at the Goliad County Fairgrounds, located at U.S. 183 and 77-A, south of Goliad.
The trail ride’s registration is set for Friday at 4 p.m.
The group will participate in the lighted Christmas Parade in downtown Goliad at 6 p.m.
Trail Boss Arlis Young of Corpus Christi, along with assistant trail bosses Michael Dunn and Ray Garcia, Wagon Boss Virgil W. Culpepper, and scouts, will head out Saturday at 9 a.m. traveling historic Goliad.
Also on Saturday, Queen Reba Wigley and Mascot Coy Dunn will be collecting new unwrapped toys, games, and other items for the Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital in San Antonio and the Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi.
According to Sweetheart Diana Atkins, an auction and drawing will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Christian Fellowship will be held Sunday at 7 a.m., with Assistant Trail Boss Ray Garcia.
Other Sunday events include a ride from 9-11 a.m. and the South Texas Trail Riders board meeting at 9 a.m.
Other upcoming events include the big trail ride on Thursday, Feb. 2, marking the beginning of the 2012 San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo.
