Victor M. Martinez Sr. passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 9 days. He was a lifelong resident of Floresville. He was born in Floresville on July 29, 1940, the son of Alfredo and Amelia Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Baby Norma Martinez; his brother, Alfredo Martinez Jr.; and his sister, Virginia Morales.

Victor is survived by his wife, Margaret Martinez of Floresville; his children, Monica Martinez of Floresville, Janina M. Guajardo and husband Rodolfo of San Antonio, and Victor Martinez Jr. of San Antonio; his sisters, Betty Guerrero of Poth, Mary Nieto of Floresville, Cedelia Flores of Floresville, and Irma Martinez of Floresville; his brothers, Salvador Martinez of San Antonio, Fernando Martinez of El Paso, Mike Martinez of Poth, and Catrine Martinez of Floresville; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville with Lily Martinez officiating.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
