Robert Wilson ‘Bobby’ King passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 6 days. He was a former resident of Floresville and Poteet, and a resident of San Antonio for 30 years. He was born in Floresville on May 2, 1946, to Richard and Flossie Mae King.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Joey King and David King.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Mary “Skip” King of San Antonio; his children, Chanda Gay Robinson of Corpus Christi, and Marcie Thompson and Steel Thompson, both of San Antonio; his sisters and brothers, Genevieve Worthington of Floresville, Cora Jean Mints of Sutherland Springs, Elsa Mae Wright of Floresville, Ida Elizabeth Rogers of Nixon, Richard Lee King of McKinney, Delbert “Buddy” King of Floresville, George King of Leesville, James Ray King of Floresville, Sammy Lester King of Floresville, Billy King of Floresville, Ernest King of Floresville, and Steve King of Floresville; and his grandchildren, Caleb Parker, Bryson Parker, and Nicholas Parker.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville with Buddy King officiating.

Inurnment will follow at a later date.
