SAN ANTONIO -- As part of its Higher Education for A New America Initiative (HENA), Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) is offering degree-completion scholarships next spring for first-generation students studying business at one of the Alamo College campuses.

The financial award, known as the Greehey Degree Completion Scholarship, will benefit students who intend to complete a bachelor’s degree in management at OLLU. The scholarships, made possible by a $2 million donation from NuStar Energy Chairman Bill Greehey, will cover 50 percent of tuition costs.

Students applying for the Greehey scholarship must have an associate degree in business at an Alamo College or have completed 60 hours from an Alamo College, and they must be at least 23 years old and the first in their family to attend college.

Greehey scholars will attend classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and complete a Bachelor of Arts in management in two years.
