The December female Student of the Month is Roseann Palmer, the 17-year-old daughter of Regina and Dominic Palmer.

Her efforts in the classroom have made Roseann a leader among her peers. She was a member of Student Council the past two years. In addition, she was a member of last year’s Prom Committee and was the class of 2012 secretary. Roseann is also a member of the National Honor Society. She earned recognition for perfect attendance her freshman and sophomore years and last year was named to the A Honor Roll.

Roseann is also very active in FHS athletics. Roseann has played tennis throughout high school and is currently in her second season as a member of the varsity team. In the fall of 2010, Roseann was a member of the regional qualifying tennis team. In the spring of 2011, Roseann and her partner earned 1st Team All-District Girls Doubles recognition and was a regional qualifier. In the fall of 2011, Roseann was a part of the regional qualifying tennis team.

Outside the classroom and the tennis court, Roseann has made a difference in her community. She has been a member of the Wilson County 4-H for the past six years. She is currently the club president and serves as the county’s vice president. She has volunteered her time baking cookies for senior citizens, restoring horse stables, and leading youth groups in 4-H. She has assisted with highway clean-up projects, Vacation Bible School, and rabies clinics.

Despite her busy schedule, and the demands of her academic and extracurricular activities, Roseann still finds time for employment. Roseann is employed at Floresville South Elementary School as an office aide through the FHS Work-Based Learning Program.

Upon graduation in June, Roseann plans to pursue a degree in accounting and finance at Texas State University to become a Certified Public Accountant.

The December male Student of the Month is Eric Ramdass, the 17-year-old son of Fay and HR Ramdass.

Eric has excelled in the classroom. He has been named to the A Honor Roll and is a member in good standing with the National Honor Society.

As a member of the Tiger baseball team, Eric plays pitcher and third base. He was also the TEC Chairman of the Mighty Tiger Marching Band. Eric is a former member of the tennis team.

Outside of the classroom, Eric is active in the Leo Club and St. Anthony’s Church Youth Group. He has volunteered his time to the Leo Club car wash, helped the youth group with trash pickup projects, and was a Vacation Bible School leader for the United Methodist Church.

Upon graduation in June, Eric plans to pursue a medical degree. He is currently undecided on which college he will attend but is considering the University of Texas, the University of the Incarnate Word, Baylor University, or Texas Lutheran University.
