Immanuel Lutheran Church is now hiring for a Youth and Family Ministry Director. Pastoral: Minister to youth and their families during Sunday School and other church programs, being present in their lives outside the church walls, available for common concerns and in crisis situations. Leadership: Recruit and nurture Youth and Family Ministry program. Administration : Manage the planning process and coordinate with Pastor and Youth Committee all regular ministries to youth and their families. This includes youth of all ages on Sunday mornings and mid-week events; assisting with Confirmation, special events, trips and retreats, and parent meetings. Stewardship: Ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of youth programs, manage youth ministry budget, and collaborate with the sponsors of each Youth group. Ability to build, lead, and empower youth. Ability to implement a ministry vision. Familiarity with Lutheran Doctrine required; must be comfortable teaching it and representing Lutheran Theology. Proficient computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database, email, internet, and social media. Supervisory experience preferred. Ability to adapt and evaluate curriculum preferred. Must have excellent organization, communication (verbal and written), and listening skills, with a high degree of initiative and accountability. Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills required, with sensitivity to church members and visitors. Understanding and enjoyment of youth and families and guiding their spiritual development. Mary “Susie” Mutz passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 94 years, 4 months, and 2 days. She was born in Panna Maria on Aug. 9, 1917, to Peter Dugie and Susie Moczygemba.

A former resident of Falls City and Cestohowa, Mary was a resident of San Antonio for the past nine years. She was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa, and a member of the Cestohowa Rosary Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alois Vincent Mutz in 1998; two brothers; and four sisters.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Kopecki and husband Louis Kopecki Sr. of San Antonio; her son, Peter Mutz of Falls City; her step-son, Vincent Mutz of Woodsboro; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cestohowa.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at noon in the church with the Rev. Andrew Waszczenko as celebrant.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were James Sheldon, Louis Kopecki Jr., Lucky Nichols, Jason Mutz, Lucky Nichols II, and Loures Nichols.
