Wilson County News

FLORESVILLE (Revised) -- The Wilson County News has learned that the location of a Dec. 29 town hall meeting related to the ongoing “Recall Them All” petition drive has changed.

One of the meeting's organizers, Floresville businessman Jim Miller reported receiving a 9:24 p.m. telephone call from Roxanne Longoria, owner of Jack's Cafe, to inform him that the restaurant would not host the meeting -- which was scheduled to begin less than 16 hours later. Miller alleges that Longoria said a manager who scheduled the event did so without her knowledge and that she did not support it. He also said Longoria informed him that signs posted at Jack's to advertise the meeting already were taken down.

Miller said Studio C, located across from the Floresville Post Office on Paloma Drive, has agreed to host the meeting. The event is set to begin at 5 p.m.

Updates to this story will be posted here as more information becomes available.
