Travis ‘Clyde’ Griffin III

Travis “Clyde” Griffin III, 63, of Seguin, Texas, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, in Seguin. Clyde was born on Dec. 23, 1947, to Billie Jean (Hames) and Travis Clyde Griffin Jr. in Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Louie Griffin.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ladell Billings-Griffin of Seguin; his son, Travis Clyde Griffin IV of Seguin; his daughter, Amanda Corinne Griffin and husband Richard Hill of Seguin; grandchildren Richard Eugene Hill IV and Taylor Corinne Hill, both of Seguin; his mother, Billie Jean Griffin of Smiley; his sisters, Melissa Jacobs and husband the Rev. Matthew P. Jacobs of Brenham and Wanda Guerrero of Smiley; his brother, Robert L. Griffin and Gracie Flores of Victoria; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family.

Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 30, from 5-8:30 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Jeremy Roy officiating.

Interment followed in the Griffin Cemetery south of Smiley.
