The 81st Judicial District Attorney’s office, which includes Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson Counties, is accepting resumes for an Assistant District Attorney position. The selected candidate will manage a specialized caseload with a focus on criminal enterprise, human trafficking/human smuggling and other cases as needed. Responsibilities of the position include working closely with Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies, felony intake, preparation of cases for grand jury, negotiating pleas, and representation of the State of Texas in pretrial proceedings, as well as in criminal bench trials and jury trials in District Court. All applicants must be a graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas and have a minimum of five (5) years prosecutorial experience with felony cases and extensive trial experience. Salary commensurate with experience. Resumes will be accepted through the close of business October 19, 2015. Rosemary Haslett, 58, of Adkins, Texas, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, in her home following a long battle with cancer. Her loving family was with her by her side. Rosemary was born to Theron B. and Virginia R. (Beavers) Jordan on Nov. 27, 1953, in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Having faithfully served her country in the armed forces, Rosemary retired after 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. After retirement, she worked 10 years for Civil Service as a civilian employee with the U.S. Army. She also was a member of the La Vernia First Baptist Church.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Rosemary is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tommy R. Haslett of Adkins; her sons, Robbie D. Haslett and wife Vicky of Norfolk, Va., and Charlie D. Buchert and wife Rossana of Cibolo; her daughters, Stephanie L. Serrato and husband Jesus of Marion, Kimberly J. Kissire and husband Jason of Jay, Okla., and Kristie L. Sanchez and husband Tony of Spring Branch; her brother, Riley Jordan and wife Jeanne of Pensacola, Fla.; her sister, Dolores Abad and husband Victor of Clearwater, Fla.; aunt Clara Wilbanks of Athens, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 7-9 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

A funeral service was held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor David Gale of La Vernia First Baptist Church officiating.

A graveside service with military honors followed at 2 p.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
