U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Ricardo A. Gamundi, formerly of Floresville, Texas, went home to the Lord Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, in Perry, Ga., at the age of 50. Rick was born Feb. 2, 1961, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, achieving the rank of senior master sergeant.

Rick was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robins, Ga., where he was honored to serve as lector, youth mentor, and Eucharistic minister. He was also a dedicated member of the ACTS Community. Rick was an avid horseman and will be greatly missed as a husband, father, brother, and friend.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 22 years, Kathie Gamundi; his children, Ricky Gamundi, T.J. Gamundi, and Rebekah Gamundi; his parents, Carlos and Delores Gamundi of Miami, Fla.; his siblings, Carlos Gamundi of Miami, Ana McConnell of LaFayette, N.Y., and Alex Gamundi of Miami; his brothers-in-law, Rick Boivin of Fort Smith, Ark., and Brian Dippi of Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Tara McCalip of Oklahoma City, Okla.; his parents-in-law, Robert and Patricia Dippi of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces and nephews; family; brothers and sisters in Christ; friends; and Home Team Angels.

A rosary was held Thursday, Dec. 29, at 6 p.m. with visitation following until 9 p.m. in the McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Ga. A gathering was also held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with a rosary recited at 5 p.m. in conjunction with the rosary in Georgia.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 3 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with retired U.S. Air Force Chaplain Thomas J. Fey officiating.
