Jenna Marie Wiatrek and Joshua Randall Cotter were united in marriage on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, in St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciusko, Texas, with Father Dennis Jarzombek and Deacon Ben Gimenez Jr. officiating. Eric Dugi served as altar server. Music was provided by Elizabeth Urbanczyk and Paul Kane.

The bride, the daughter of Ronald and Barbara Wiatrek of Stockdale, is the granddaughter of Magdalen Wiatrek of Stockdale and the late John Wiatrek Sr. and the late August and Emma Shortner, formerly of Karnes City.

The groom, the son of Randy and Susan Cotter of Stockdale and Velvis Jowers of St. Hedwig, is the grandson of Joe and Brenda Cotter of Stockdale and Sipple Lee West of St. Hedwig and the late James Orbrie and Carol West, formerly of Japton, Ark.

Shannon Mills of Stockdale, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Her bridesmaids included Lori Binney, cousin of the bride; and Meghan Akin, Desiree Cooper, Lacie Grams, Shanna Kilgore, Ashley Lynch, and Brett Patillo, friends of the bride. Alyssa Elkins, niece of the groom, was junior bridesmaid and Callie Akin served as flower girl.

The bride wore a Vera Wang creation of soft white tulle with a delicately draped bodice, illusion straps, and floral hip corsage. Her bridal bouquet was beautiful coffee break roses entwined with her great-grandmother’s rosary.

Blaine Akin of Stockdale, brother of the groom, was his best man. His groomsmen were Joe Cotter and Shane Akin, brothers of the groom; Tyler Wiatrek, brother of the bride; and Kyle Cooper, Abel Segura, Brian Johnson, and Lee Hastings, friends of the groom. Gavin Lopez, nephew of the groom, served as junior groomsman and Chase Cotter, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Serving as ushers were Jonathan Wiatrek, brother of the bride, and Stephen Lerma and J.D. Quintanilla, friends of the groom.

The offertory gifts were presented by the couple’s godparents, Billy and Debbie Shortner and Banks and Charlin Akin.

A theme of “simply elegant” reception, dinner, and dance followed in St. Mary’s Parish Hall in Stockdale. The guests enjoyed the Polish tradition of Dajcie Dajcie by family and friends. Musical entertainment was provided by the “Emmerson Biggins Band.”

After a week-long honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, the couple will reside in Stockdale.
